What is Cashback?
Cashback is a way of earning some extra money back when you make a purchase, similar to when a company offers you reward points. There are two main types of cashback rewards:
- A percentage of the total money spent - For example if the cashback reward was 5% and you spent £100 then you would get £5 back from your purchase
- A fixed amount - For example when you sign up to a free trial and get a £10 cashback reward for doing so
Where can I find Cashback Rewards?
There are a number of different cashback app and websites to choose from. It is best to check all of them as some apps or websites may offer a higher cashback reward compared to others:
TopCashback is one of the largest cashback websites around with some of the best paying cashback rewards. They have over 5000 merchants to check out, ranging from grocery shops and fashion stores to utilities and insurance. So there are many options to get cashback from.
TopCashback also has a very simple untracked claims process in case your purchase doesn't show on your dashboard.
When it comes to paying out your earnings, you have the choice of receiving it as cash or opting to be paid out in Gift Card Vouchers from well-known brands such as Amazon or Miller and Carter. If you opt for the Gift Voucher option TopCashback will give you an extra bonus of up to 25% of the value.
OhMyDosh is a cashback website specifically designed with customer rewards in mind. They have your usual Shop and Earn cashback reward offers but they also include specific categories such as High Earners, Lightning Payouts and even Bundled Offers so that you can earn additional cashback when you complete the bundle.
If you are looking for extra cash then OhMyDosh will even pay you just for signing up to Survey websites.
Quidco is considered TopCashback's closest rival. With over 4500 merchants on their website and app, it makes them worth checking out.
Quidco also provides its customers with a price comparison service for Mobile Phone deals, Home Insurance and Broadband where you can find cheap deals that you can also get Cashback on.
InboxPounds is a different style of cashback website where instead of focusing on cashback for purchases, you instead get rewarded for signing up to websites or completing certain tasks.
A large number of the tasks are associated with playing games. For example when you sign up to a game and reach level 10 they will reward you with cash. These types of reward offers are handy when you are looking to make some money whilst trying to pass some time.
InboxPounds does have a small number of cashback offers that are worth checking out
Airtime Rewards is a mobile app that offers automatic cashback on purchases. All you need to do is link your debit card to the app and it will automatically register purchases from any of their partnered merchants and which allows you to automatically earn cashback without having to do anything.
It should be noted that cashback paid out from Airtime Rewards can only be redeemed for a voucher that can be used to reduce your Monthly Mobile Bill.
